James Miller

January 12, 1927 - January 20, 2014

James Miller, 87, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Monday, January 20, 2014 at his home.  Mr. Miller served in the Army for 5 years and was awarded the Korean Service Medal with 4 bronze service stars.  He also served in the Navy for 2 years during World War II `on an oil tanker.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Claudine Miller of DeRidder; son, Steve Miller and wife Pam of DeRidder; grandchildren, Ginger Kemp, Damon Miller, and James P. Miller; great grandchildren, Lathan and Keagan Miller, and Gabrielle and Dakota Kemp; and a host of cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Annie Miller; and 2 sisters.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 22, 2014 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder.  Funeral services will be Thursday, January 23, 2014, at 2:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery.  Rev. Shelton Sigler will officiate.
