James "Jim" Jones

Rev. James “Jim” Jones, 83, of Rosepine, LA, passed from this life on Monday, December 25, 2017.

He became a licensed minister in 1978.  He worked in the Home Missionary Field in Vidalia, LA and Barnwell, SC as an Assistant Pastor and in Hartville, SC as a pastor.   Jim was a Sunday School Teacher, and worked in several ministries in a number of churches in different states over the course of his life such as; The Bus Ministry, Jail Ministry, Radio Ministry, Nursing Home Ministry and, the Outreach Program for the Homeless.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Grace Jones of Rosepine, LA; son, James David Jones of DeRidder, LA; brother, Donald Ray Jones of DeRidder, LA, he also had four grandchildren and host of nephews, nieces, family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie & Lillie Jones; daughter, Julitta Jones; brothers, Almer Brister, LeRoy, Woody, Eugene, Saburn & John Henry Jones; sisters, Verilee Watson, Vergie Stafford, Wanda & Dorothy Jones.
