June 25, 1960 - February 28, 2014

Jim Bennett, 53, transitioned from this life to life everlasting on February 28, 2014 in DeRidder, Louisiana.  Jim, a native of DeRidder, living in Merryville, is survived by his daughter, April Rhenja, and grandson, Amir, of Orlando, Florida; three siblings:  Janice Vinyard, Becky Hammerschmidt, and Robert Bennett, all of DeRidder, and a host of nephews, nieces, and special aunts and uncles.  James is preceded in death by his parents, R.A. (Jack) Bennett, Jr. and Ruby.  Jim cherished the friendships he made from a lifetime of experiences hunting, fishing, diving, boating, playing music, and cooking for others.

A memorial service to celebrate his transition will be held at the Merryville Methodist Church on Monday, March 3, 2014 at 4pm, with visitation beginning at 3pm.  Rev. Rick Watson and Rev. Wayne Evans will officiate.
