Jackie "JW" Wilford Jackson, Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jackie Wilford "JW" Jackson Jr., on July 10, 2025, at the age of 54. Born on February 19, 1971, in New Orleans, LA, JW was a beloved husband, uncle, and a true friend to many.

JW was a proud truck driver who dedicated his life to the trucking industry, starting his journey in logging alongside his father at a young age. His strength and skills were unmatched, as he could carry logs that most machines struggled with. He spent years on the road, hauling loads and enjoying the freedom that came with it. Throughout his life, he had an undeniable passion for the outdoors, celebrating his love for hunting and fishing.

JW was a family man who adored his wife of thirty-five years, Bridgette. He was known for loving his fur babies just as fiercely as his family. With around 13 pets at home, Bubba and Dixie held a special place in his heart, as he considered them his children-perfect in every way.

JW is survived by his wife, Bridgette Jackson of DeRidder, LA; sisters, Louella Jackson and Scharlotte Ford, both of New Orleans, LA; brother, Terry Watkins and Lindy of TN; nieces and nephews, Shalamar Prater, Coty Stracener, Patrick Stracener, Jordan Jackson, Jarrett Jackson, Georgia Jackson Cooper, Danny Ford and a host of great nieces, nephews, family and friends.

JW was preceded in death by his parents, Jackie, Sr. and Easter Jackson; sister, Jacqueline Stracener.

He was a devoted fan of the Saints, LSU, and Alabama, always ready to cheer for his teams. JW also loved to supervise family projects, whether it was gardening or fixing a car, always lending a helping hand and sharing his mechanical know-how. His CB handle, "Silver Eagle," was a fitting title for a man who took pride in his work and lived life with enthusiasm.

Family and friends are invited to join us in celebrating JW's life. A public viewing will be held at Myers Colonial Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at the same location at 12:00 PM. We will lay JW to rest following the service at John C. White Family Cemetery of Providence, where he will be surrounded by the love of his family and friends.

As we remember Jackie, let's honor his spirit by sharing stories and laughter just as he would have wanted. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
