Jack Chester Lee Keel

October 25, 1961 — January 16, 2026

DeRidder, Louisiana

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jack Chester Lee Keel, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Jack was born on October 25, 1961, in DeRidder, Louisiana, and he peacefully departed this world on January 16, 2026, also in DeRidder.

Jack was known for his incredible strength and determination. He dedicated an impressive 50 years to working as a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry. His love for his job was evident, and he continued working up until December 12, 2025, his final day on the job, showing his grit even as he battled his health challenges.

Family meant everything to Jack. He leaves behind his wife of forty-three years, Holly Keel, and his son, Jack Keel, Jr., both of DeRidder, LA. He cherished his siblings, Dorman Keel and wife, Jennifer and Annie Mae Lejeune, also of DeRidder, LA and was a proud grandparent to Curtis, Maddie, and Lauren Keel. He will be dearly missed by his cousin and best friend, BJ Hicks and wife, Jessica and his fur baby, Gracie. Jack was a man who enjoyed life to the fullest-he loved hunting and fishing, sharing a good joke (especially at someone else's expense), and spending precious moments with his family. His dog, Gracie, was always by his side, often curled up in his recliner, a comforting presence through the years.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Ruth Keel; brother, Baron Keel and Patrick Keel

A Funeral Service will be held in his honor at Myers Colonial Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 12:00 PM, preceded by a public viewing starting at 10:00 AM. Pallbearers will be Donnie Dickerson, BJ Hicks, Ricky Mathis, Brandon Mathis, Chad Brister, Thomas Murray. Honorary pallbearer will be Michael "Cat Daddy" Radig. We invite friends and family to gather to remember and celebrate the life of a truly remarkable man. Following the service, Jack will be laid to rest in on Old Cypress Cemetery in Rosepine, Louisiana.

Jack's tough spirit, love for laughter, and endless devotion to his family will be dearly missed but fondly remembered. May he rest in peace.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the funeral home for assistance with final expenses.
