Jack William Cofty

Jack William Cofty, age 78, of Deridder, passed away on October 26, 2025, in DeRidder, LA. Born on March 2, 1947, in Newton, Texas, to William and Margaret Cofty. Jack was a man who reveled in the beauty of life’s simplest moments. He proudly served in the United States Army, embodying the spirit of dedication and resilience. 

Jack's journey was one marked by hard work and a genuine affection for those around him. An operator in the construction industry, he approached his labor with a steadfast commitment, always finding joy in the task at hand. His remarkable gift with words often left an indelible mark on conversations, connecting him deeply to family and friends alike. Jack cherished his role in his family, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will forever resonate in the hearts of all who knew him.

 Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, of 42 years, Frankie Cofty of DeRidder, La; children, Heath Cofty and Christina of Jasper, Tx, Jackie Cofty of Brookland, Tx, Adam and Cindy Preston of Jonestown, Tx, Jon Preston and Stacie of Lago Vista, Tx, and Toni Blackmon of DeRidder, La. brother Sidney Cofty of DeRidder, La. 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Proceeded in death by his parents Cecil and Margerat Cofty; sister Fannie Cofty; brother Ralph Cofty and daughter Terri Miller.

In this time of loss, we remember Jack for his kindness, his unwavering love for family, and his ability to find profound joy in the little things in life. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing his gentle spirit. 

Cremation has been entrusted to Myers Colonial Funeral Home.
