It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Irma Lee Hickman Fowler, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Irma was born on October 25, 1948, and departed this world on November 22, 2025, in Sulphur, Louisiana.

Irma was an all-around wonderful person; known for her kindness and the joy she brought to those around her. She dedicated her life to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant, always giving more than she received. Her love for family, especially her daughters and her grandchildren, was immeasurable; they were the center of her universe.

A proud member of Sweet Home Baptist Church for many years, Irma had a deep faith that guided her life. She was well-known for her delicious cooking, especially her famous chicken and dumplings, savory dressing, and the sweetest sweet potato pies that delighted family gatherings. Irma had a soft spot for red roses, thrift shopping, and spent many evenings watching the news and Animal Planet, bringing knowledge and laughter into her home.

Those left the cherish her memory are her daughters, Michelle Fowler and James “Tim” Freeney of DeRidder, LA, Candice Calhoun of Lake Charles, LA, Erikka Fowler of Sulphur, LA; bonus daughter, Ameisha Hickman; sisters, Ella Mae Rambo of San Antonio, TX, Alene Ford of Dallas, TX; eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Irma was preceded in death by her husband, Elisha Fowler; her parents, Elmo and Irma Hazel Hickman; three brothers and four sisters.

Irma will be dearly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life at a funeral service to be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home. There will be a public viewing earlier that day starting at 9:00 AM. Reverend DeWayne Hickman will officiate the service. Honorary pallbearers will be Courtland Wysinger, Jiron Fowler, Jordan Fowler, Deldrick Fowler and Jaren Calhoun.
