Helen Ruth Thompson Shope, 91, of Longville, LA, died September 18, 2015 in Lake Charles, LA.  She was born October 20, 1923 in Baton Rouge, LA.  She is survived by her son, Dr. Ted Shope; daughter-in-law, Brenda Shope; and two granddaughters, Klancy Shope Leonard and Darby Shope; nephew, Richard Fortenberry and niece, Donna Ruth Fortenberry Simmons.  

Funeral services will be graveside at the Merryville Cemetery in Merryville, LA on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 10:00am.
