With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Glenita Cross McCain, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, who entered eternal rest on June 23, 2026, at the age of 92. Glenita was born on January 27, 1934, in Denison, Texas, to Fred and Gertie Cross, and spent her later years in Deridder, Louisiana.
Glenita was a beacon of light, embodying warmth and compassion in every aspect of her life. Known affectionately as "Mother to everyone," she loved nothing more than spending time with her family and friends. Her unwavering faith in the Lord guided her daily, fostering a spirit of kindness and generosity that touched all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Glenita devoted her time to volunteering at God's Food Box, where she provided care and nourishment to those in need, and she served proudly as a Pink Lady at the local hospital, offering comfort and support to patients and their families. Her selfless acts of service and dedication to her community left a lasting impact on those around her. She worked as the secretary for 10 years at Rosepine High School and 28 years at Bosie Cascade.
She is survived, Sons; Gerald McCain and wife Lisa of DeRidder, James McCain and wife Mandy of North Richland Hills, TX. Grandchildren; Brandon McCain, Ryan McCain and wife Bridgette, James Patrick McCain and wife Dani, Katy Wood and husband Shawn. Great Grandchildren; Wyatt Wood, William Wood Sister; Gailene Shearer and husband Glenn of Longview, TX
Glenita was preceded in death by her husband, James Byron McCain; parents, Fred and Gertie Cross; sister, Mildred Gailey and niece Pamela Brown.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 3:00pm in the Chapel of Myers Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service in Rosepine Cemetery, Pastor Steve Thomas will be officiating the service. Visitation will be on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Myers Colonial Funeral Home from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.

In honoring Glenita McCain’s life, we find solace in the love she shared and the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
