It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gladys Virginia Montgomery Williamston, who left us on June 16, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on July 23, 1933, in Collierville, TN, Gladys was a vibrant spirit known for her love of fashion, always matching her outfits from head to toe and sporting her favorite hats.
Gladys was not just a homemaker; she was a true matriarch who took immense pride in caring for her large family. Known for her exceptional cooking skills, she loved whipping up big meals that brought everyone together. Her love for music and dancing often filled her home with joy, and evenings spent watching CNN were never complete without her lively commentary.
Gladys is survived by her devoted husband, Calvin Williamston of DeRidder, LA; her children, Joyce Herrell of Austin, TX, Rena Tyler of Merryville, LA, Stacy Drisker of Houston, TX, Veronica Kolhagen and David of Austin, TX, Tammy Drisker of Merryville, LA, Jesse James Montgomery, Sr. of Memphis, TN, Gloria McClendon and Geoffry of Milwaukee, WI, Kenneth Johnson of Houston, TX, Kenny Drisker of DeRidder, LA, Carl Drisker of CA, Clarence Dixon of DeRidder, LA; daughter-in-law, Christene Brown of Buna, TX; grandchildren, Tiffany Williams and Quentin, Dawn LaBeaux and Rickey, Austin Conner, Brandon Conner, Samantha Johnson, Solomon Johnson, Dhevin Clark, Kendrae Anthony, Austin Herrell, Melissa Nelson and Tony, Regina Arline and Josh, Jesse James Montgomery, Jr. and a host of other grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends. She touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, Hershel and Sophronia Montgomery; sons, Leonard Ray Drisker, Aaron Johnson, Jr.; daughter, Patricia Johnson; five brothers and six sisters.
Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Myers Colonial Funeral Home. Public viewing will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by the service at 11:00 AM. Gladys will be laid to rest at Merryville North Community Cemetery after the service. Pallbearers will be Dhevin Clark, Brandon Connor, Austin Connor, Gerald Green. We invite all who knew and loved her to join us in celebrating her remarkable life.
