George P. Pickett, Sr., 56 of New Llano, LA departed this life on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at Byrd Hospital in Leesville, LA. Visitation will be 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM, Thursday, August 28, 2008 at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Service will begin at 10:00 AM, Friday August 29, 2008 at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Burial will be in Old Cypress Cemetery in DeRidder, LA with Bro. B.C. Ellis officiating.

Survivors include: Son: George P. Pickett, Jr. & wife Tammy of Anacoco, LA; Daughters: Malinda Nash and husband Larry of DeRidder, LA and  Alicia Pickett of Leesville, LA; 13 Grandchildren. Mr. Pickett was preceded in death by his parents: George B. and Iva Jean Pickett.
