It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eugene Parson, who passed away on December 24, 2025, in Deridder, Louisiana at the age of 82. Born on July 18, 1943, in Fredericktown, Missouri, Eugene dedicated much of his life to serving his country in the military, where he rose to the rank of Sergeant. His commitment to duty and honor not only defined his career but also shaped the values he instilled in his family. Eugene was a man deeply devoted to his loved ones, his family will forever remember him as a steadfast figure, whose love knew no bounds and whose spirit will live on in their hearts.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Parson; sons Ronald Parson (Laurie) of Cabot, AR, Mardis Parson of Granite City, IL, David Owings (Angela) of Deridder, LA, Steven Owings of Bushnell, Fl; daughters Jennie Spurgins (Jerry) of Pineville, LA, LaNell (Shelty) LeBleau of Basile, LA; grandchildren, Nicole, Adrianna, Jacob, Tiffiney (DJ), Alexander, Hollie (Nicole), Seth, Alex, Justina, Jerry James (Lacy), great grandchildren, Colton, Finley, Levi, Remington, Barrett, Shyanne, Aiden, Lori, Sofia, Calvin (Samuel), Jamie, Samuel, Sarah, Devienity and Leeland; Brothers; James Clifton and Bobby McDaniel, Sisters; Susan Madden and Sandy Hagan.
Eugene was preceded in death by parents, Elmer Parson, Ethel Parson, late wife Sherrie Bromley Parson, Patsy Clifton, B.L Clifton, and Jacky Clifton.
A funeral service will be held in honor of Eugene on January 2, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the New Testament Apostolic Church. Prior to the service, a public viewing will take place at the church starting at 10:00 AM, allowing friends, family, and members of the community to pay their respects and celebrate Eugene’s remarkable life. Pallbearers will be David Owings, Ronnie Parson, Jerry James Hanes, Seth Leblue, Leeland Miller, Jonathan Ozane, with alternate pallbearer Mardis Parson. Following the service, Eugene will be laid to rest in Beauregard Cemetery in Deridder, Louisiana.
In these moments of sorrow, let us remember the joy Elmer brought to our lives and the legacy of love he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
