Edwin Shirley, 69, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Saturday, November 02, 2013.  Mr. Shirley was an usher at Grace Church for 7 years and coordinator of Soul Soup, a ministry of Grace Church, for 3 years.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Donnie Shirley of DeRidder, LA; sons, Edwin Shirley, Jr. of Texas, Merida Shirley and wife Shanna of Rosepine, LA; stepson, Rev. Charles Nathan Duhon and wife Stephanie of Pleasant Hill, LA; daughters, Gwen Whittington and husband Herbert of Rosepine, LA, Angie Cooley and husband Billy of DeRidder, LA, Sara Suire and husband Chip of DeRidder, LA and Jeanie Beertzer and husband and Gary of Gary, IN; brother, Donald Wayne Shirley, Sr. and wife Mary of DeRidder, LA; 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; and his Grace Church family.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Attley and Louisa Shirley; sister, Barbara Ann Trahan; brother, D.T. Shirley; grandson, Herbert Ray Whittington, Jr.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2013 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm and on Monday, November 4, 2013 from 10:00am until 2:00pm at Grace Church in DeRidder, LA.  Funeral services will be Monday, November 4, 2013 at 2:00pm at Grace Church.  Rev. George Glass, Jr., Rev. George Lee Glass and Rev. Jimmy Glass will officiate.
