Doris J. Ashworth

Doris J. Ashworth, 80, of Singer, Louisiana passed from this life on Monday, January 9, 2012 .

Aunt Doris was a faithful, longtime member of the Pentecostal Church and was currently a member of Singer United Pentecostal Church. She was the owner and operator of the parkway Cafe until 1972. Aunt Doris was a fantastic cook and enjoyed feeding family and friends. She also enjoyed spending time with her furry companion, Peanut.

She is survived by 4 children, Barbara D. Remedies of Singer, Julie A. Stark of Lake Charles, George "Randy" Davis of Singer and Orvel "John" Van Winkle of Roange, TX; a host of nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Ashworth; parents, Marshall and Molinda Thorn; 6 sisters and 1 brother.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, january 12, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Singer United Pentecostal Church in Singer, Louisiana and Friday, January 13, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. also at the church. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Singer United Pentecostal Church. The Reverends, Donnis Ashworth, Samuel Ashworth and Michael Cole will officiate. Interment will follow at Good Hope Cemetery in Singer, Louisiana
