Deborah Ruth Kern

February 13, 1951 — December 25, 2025

Palestine, TX

The most Loving, Outgoing, Fun Spirited Mom and Friend, God could ever Bless another soul with. Deborah Ruth Kern, 74 years of Age of DeRidder La and Palestine Texas passed on to be with Jesus on December 25th, 2025. What an AWESOME DAY to go be with Jesus.

Deborah was born in DeRidder La on February 13th, 1951, to her parents Myron L. Kern and Ethel Kern Moses (Both of DeRidder, La). She was the middle child of 3 children (Ken, Deborah and Ronnie) born to The Kern Family, who were locally known for Dixie Made Ice Cream and the Coca Cola Bottle Company of DeRidder, La.

Deborah was a resident of DeRidder, La for over 69 Years of the 74 that she lived on this earth. The last 5 ½ Years she lived in Palestine, Texas where she expressed to everyone that she met, that she was a Louisiana Transplant from DeRidder La. Forced out by the Hurricane. Lol.... She always had the funniest things to say about leaving DeRidder...She loved her hometown of DeRidder and all of her friends very much. She was always the life of the party, that loved to laugh and joke... She never seemed to meet a stranger. Everyone was considered a friend to her. She Spent the last 6 Years of her life with me Enjoying her Family, Eating Good Food (Panda Express Lol), Talking to Friends on her phone, watching a lot of Hallmark Movies and Fox News with her dog Pumpkin.

Deborah was an employee for the State of Louisiana for over 20 plus years working both at the Beauregard Parish Health Unit and Child Protective Services, where she retired. She loved helping people and was definitely a “People Person” which made her perfect for the Job that she loved so much....

Deborah loved her family.... She was dedicated to her Mom and Dad until they passed. She Loved her Grand Kids Cooper and Paige to the Moon and Back. She literally loved everyone she met! I honestly do not know of anyone she ever spoke negatively of. She was just a great human being, friend and amazing mom to me for 53 Years. She was Patient and Loving to me, yet put me in my place when I needed it. God knows I needed it! Lol I could never pull anything over on her! She supported my every endeavor whether she knew I was likely to fail or not. The Best Mom a guy could have!

If you knew her mother Ethel Kern, you surely knew where she got her Since of Humor, No BS attitude and Quick Wittiness from. The kind-warmhearted spirit of her Dad, Myron L Kern, made her the perfect mix of a great woman. She was humble, proper, well spoken, and as smart as a person could be, yet could be as down to earth of a human, fitting in with any crowd she was around. My Mom's humor, perseverance, and loving attitude will be carried forward by those who had the privilege of knowing her, loving her and making her part of their lives. Her remarkable life will forever be an inspiration to so many, a testament to the power of a spirit enthused with curiosity, laughter, love and resilience and a never give up attitude, which she carried with her until her last breath on this earth before she fell into the hands of Jesus. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered by so many.

Deborah was survived by Son David Mark Wiegand Jr., Daughter In Law Janelle Wiegand and Grand-Children. Cooper Wiegand, Paige Fowler, Brother Ronald Kern, ...Sister-in-Law Linda Kern and 1st Husband, (My Dad), Mark Wiegand Sr.
