Deborah Renee Brister

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Deborah “Renee” Brister, who passed away on August 30, 2025, at the age of 60. Born on December 31, 1964, in Merryville, Louisiana, to her parents George and Marceline Davis. Deborah dedicated her life to her family as a devoted homemaker, embodying love and warmth in every aspect of her life. She will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. 

Deborah was known for her vibrant spirit and her ability to bring joy to those around her. She had a zest for life that lit up rooms, making her the life of the party. Her laughter and love for her family and friends created countless cherished memories that will be held dearly in their hearts forever.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children Kelly Carrio of Houston, Tx, Courtney Shepard and husband David of DeRidder, LA., and Taylor Scallon and husband Lesli of DeRidder, LA., Nine grandchildren; Julieanne, Jayvien, JaLisa, Conner, Ryleigh, Colton, Sean, Racelynn, and Lynlee., Three Great Grandchildren, and her fur baby "best friend" Peewee.

Renee is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands William Carrico, and Stanley Brister, her brother, James Davis, and her niece Hannah Davis.

 A Funeral Service to honor Deborah's life will be held at the chapel of Myers Colonial Funeral Home on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 11: 00A.M., Brother Ross Whitaker will officiate the service. A public viewing is scheduled for Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and again on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Following the ceremony, cremation has been entrusted to Myers Colonial Funeral Home. 

As we reflect on Deborah's life, we are reminded of her unwavering love, her infectious laughter, and her ability to make those around her feel special. Her legacy will continue to live on through her daughter and all who were fortunate enough to share in her life.
