David DeWayne Taylor

March 18, 1972 — July 12, 2025

DeRidder, Louisiana

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David DeWayne Taylor, who left us on July 12, 2025, at the age of 53. Born on March 18, 1972, in Port Sulphur, Louisiana, David made a life for himself in DeRidder, where he was known for his hearty laugh, love of the outdoors, and generous spirit.

David, a dedicated equipment operator in the construction industry, took pride in his work. But it was the great outdoors that truly called to his soul. Whether he was hunting, fishing, camping, or tending to his garden and raising rabbits and other farm animals, David cherished every moment spent in nature. He also loved cheering on his favorite Nascar drivers, often gathering with friends and family to share in the excitement of the races.

He leaves behind his beloved mother, Vickey Bailey of DeRidder, LA, and his sons, Andrew Blake Taylor of Moss Bluff and Devin Thomas Taylor of Warsaw, MO; brothers, John David "John John" Taylor, Jr. of DeRidder, LA, Steven Scott "Thumper" Taylor and Joni of Oakdale, LA; sister, Sherry "Rosie" Frasier and Bruce of Centerfield, UT and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends who will carry on his adventurous spirit and fond memories.

David was preceded in death by his father, John David Taylor, Sr. and brother, Charlie Taylor.

Family and friends are invited to join us for a celebration of David's life. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Hopewell Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA from 4:00 PM until the time of service at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 18, 2025. Brother Tim Cooley and Brother Steven Taylor will officiate the service. Honorary pallbearers will be John Clayton Taylor, Joseph Mikolaszuk, Andrew Taylor, Boog Thompson, Leslie "Bull" Taylor, Bruce Frasier, Van Finch, Jeff Barrett, Steven Taylor, Erik Bailey, Devin Taylor, Charlie Jurquet, Brady Bailey, John "John John" Taylor, Sherry "Rosie" Frasier. We invite everyone to come together to share stories, laughter, and memories of David as we honor a life well-lived.

David will be sorely missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
