Darrel Wayne Craig, 60, of Shreveport, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Ochsner LSU Health System, surrounded by loved ones. He was born August 9, 1963 to Naomi Craig and the late Earl James Craig, Sr. He was the fourth of seven children.
Born and raised in DeRidder, LA, he attended Beauregard Parish Schools, graduating in 1981 from DeRidder High School. Darrel moved to Shreveport, LA as a young adult and spent his remaining years there. He worked for many years installing commercial water pumps, and eventually retiring to do his favorite past time, fishing.
Darrel was preceded in death by his father, Earl James Craig, Sr., three brothers, Lonnie R. Craig, Earl James Craig, Jr., and Norman Ross Craig, Sr.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Naomi Craig of Knight, LA; daughter, Demetrius Jackson of Leesville, LA; brother, Jimmy Craig of DeRidder, LA; sisters, Patricia Craig, LaCrisha Jeff, both of DeRidder, LA; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Elder David Iles will officiate the service.
