Daniel Young, 67, of Sulphur, LA, passed from this life on Monday, January 21, 2019.

Daniel was born September 2, 1951 in DeRidder, LA to James and Nettie Bailey Young.  He was a jack of all trades and loved fishing and telling stories.  His family and friends will remember him as a caring and lovable father, husband, brother, grandfather and friend who would help anyone that needed it.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 29 years, Dorothy Lohr Young of Sulphur, LA; sons, Timothy Young and Ashley, James Heath Young all of Pembroke, GA, stepson, Guy Lohr of Lake Charles, LA; stepdaughters, Cindy Peveto of Kirbyville, TX, Patricia Lambert of Ragley, LA, Esther Breaux and Shane of Ragley, LA, Lanell Browning of Lumberton, TX, Leenora Ipes and Robert of DeRidder, LA, Kelley Lohr of DeRidder, LA; sisters, Eunice Highsmith of Portland, OR, Tollie Gillard and Bobby of Westlake, LA, Lorine Moses and Ochel of DeRidder, LA, Virginia McBroom and Hawk of Sulphur, LA, Jerlene Dowers of Melbourne, FL, Loretta Starkey of Deer Park, TX, Dianne Duggan of DeRidder, LA; twenty-one grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Nettie Young; brothers, Alphus, Ezra, and Wayne Young; sister, Lois Turner; granddaughter, Christian Victoria Young.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019 from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.  Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM, also on Friday at Myers Colonial Funeral Home.  Brother Howard will officiate the service.  Pallbearers will be Tim Young, Jeremy Breaux, Robert Mercer, Joseph Mercer, James Young, and Shane Breaux.  Burial will follow at Whitaker Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
