With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Dana Kay Booth, who went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the age of 64.
Dana was born on August 5, 1961, in Pensacola, Florida, where she was also raised. She married the love of her life, Daniel Lee Booth, and they shared many years of life, love, and ministry together until his passing on June 21, 2023.
For many years, Dana faithfully served as a pastor’s wife at Turning Point Apostolic Church. She had a true servant’s heart, always putting others before herself and giving freely of her time, love, and encouragement. She loved church deeply, and inviting others to come was one of her greatest passions.
Dana was an incredibly gifted singer who loved to worship, and she found joy in playing the piano. She loved the truth and lived her life as an example for others to see. Her life reflected her faith in a way that left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.
She was the heart of her family, full of strength, grace, and unwavering faith. Her family was her greatest joy. While she was a proud grandmother, she was “Nannie” to so many. Her love extended far beyond her immediate family, and countless others were blessed to be loved by her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Herbert Jr. and Doris Nell Herbert, and her husband, Daniel Lee Booth.
She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children, Amanda Reed (David) of Moss Bluff, Louisiana, and Ryan Lee Booth (Brandy) of DeRidder, Louisiana; her grandchildren, Kaylee Reed (Bryce) of Moss Bluff, Louisiana, Lauren Walley (Parker) of DeRidder, Louisiana, Haylee Booth of DeRidder, Louisiana, Justin Reed of DeRidder, Louisiana, Caleb Reed of Moss Bluff, Louisiana, and Mylee Booth of DeRidder, Louisiana; her great-grandchildren, Art, Teddy, Mason, Elias, and Blair. She also leaves behind Brian Jones (Marie) of Destin, Texas, Amanda Smith (Corey) of Dry Creek, Louisiana, along with a host of others who were blessed to call her Mom and “Nannie.” She is also survived by her sisters, Deborah Bohannon of Jay, Florida, Denise Carrell (Garry) of Pensacola, Florida, Darlene Taylor of Cleveland, Georgia, and Dara Herbert of DeRidder, Louisiana; and her brother, Jeff Herbert of Pensacola, Florida.
While our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing she is at peace, reunited with loved ones, and walking the streets of heaven whole and free.
A celebration of her life will be held at Turning Point Apostolic Church on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 10:00 AM. Visitation will be Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, also at Turning Point Apostolic Church in DeRidder, Louisiana. Brother Justin Hancock and Brother Jon Hair will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Robbie Herbert, Adam Johnson, Bobby Guichet, Ronnie Walley, Dawson Walley, Billy Maddox. Honorary pallbearer will be Gary Ford. Burial will follow the service at Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville, Louisiana.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Rita Luneau for the love, care, and support she has given to Dana over the last few years. Your kindness meant more than words can express.
Please keep our family in your prayers as we navigate this loss and hold tightly to the memories she gave us, memories we will carry with us forever.
