Connie Keel

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Connie Lynn Harvey Keel, who left us on September 13, 2025, in her hometown of DeRidder, Louisiana. Connie was born on February 17, 1949, in DeRidder, and she spent her life there, surrounded by family and friends, who meant the world to her.

Connie dedicated 37 years of her life as an operator at Bell South, where she made lasting friendships and memories. After retiring, she found joy in her hobbies, especially quilting. A proud member of the Common Threads quilter's guild, Connie loved creating beautiful quilts and generously sharing them with her loved ones.

In addition to her passion for quilting, Connie enjoyed fishing, canning, baking, and tending to her garden. She had a special fondness for the color purple and adored hydrangeas, which brightened up her home and heart.

Connie is survived by her three beloved children, Gregory Dennis Keel, Hope Sheri Harvey, and Christine Phillips, all of DeRidder, LA; siblings, Gary Harvey and Linda, George Michael Harvey and Jennifer, Paula Ogden, also all of DeRidder, LA and Teresa Savant of Alexandria, LA; grandchildren, Dane Cooley and Shelby Cooley; great granchildren, Kinley Cooley, Adeline Cooley, Brentley Cooley and Maverick Cooley; caregiver, Bridgett Jackson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends who will cherish the memories they created together.

Connie was preceded in death by husband, Dennis Keel; parents, George and Mable Harvey; brother, Sam Harvey; great grandson, Josiah Cooley.

A funeral service will be held in her honor at Myers Colonial Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Prior to the service, a public viewing will take place from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Brother John Nichlos will officiate the service. Following the ceremony, Connie will be cremated, and a private burial will take place at a later date.
