It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Clayton James McGee, who left us far too soon on June 16, 2026, at the tender age of 21. Born on June 7, 2005, in Shreveport, LA, Clayton grew up in Merryville, LA before later moving to Baton Rouge, LA.
Clayton was one of a kind-everyone he met was his friend. He brought laughter and joy into every room, always armed with a quick wit. Alongside his twin brother, Coltin, the two were inseparable, creating countless memories as they navigated life together. Clayton's impact on the lives of those around him was undeniable, leaving a mark that will never fade.
He is survived by his beloved mother, Katie Elliott of Coushatta, LA; father, Josh McGee; brother, Coltin McGee of Provencal, LA; sister, Madelyn McGee of Coushatta, LA; grandmother, Rhonda Webster of DeRidder, LA; grandfather, James Leggett of San Antonio, TX; aunts and uncles, Caleb Elliott and Heather of Provencal, LA, Jesse Elliott of Washington, DC; Karey Russell of DeQuincy, LA, Ashley McGee of Leesville, LA; God parents, Keith and Lynn Walker of Merryville, LA and a host of cousins, other family and friends who will forever cherish the moments spent with Clayton and the joy he brought to their lives.
Clayton is preceded in death by his grandmother, Kathy Elliott and grandfather, Harry Elliott, Sr.
Visitation will be Friday, June 19, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church in Merryville, LA. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 10:00 AM,also at Calvary Baptist Church where friends and family can come together to honor Clayton's life and the light he brought into the world. Brother Jim Miers will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Coltin McGee, Caleb Elliott, Bart Coody, Mason McGee, Brett Richards and Kyle Gill. Clayton will be laid to rest at Cannon Cemetery in Merryville, LA following the service.
He was loved deeply and will be missed dearly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Rest in peace, Clayton. You'll always be in our hearts.
