Cheryl Eaves LeJeune

Cheryl Denise Eaves LeJeune, 60, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Monday, June 26, 2023.

There are no words to truly describe the woman that Cheryl was. She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, but more than that and most importantly, she was a child of God and the best example of what a kind, loving, generous, courageous, Christian woman should be. While she accomplished many things in her life, she always said her only true ambition was to help others, and she always tried to live by that. Through her high school years, she loved playing basketball and was Drum Major in the band. She went on to become a Cowgirl Kicker at McNeese and earned her Master's Degree in Adapted Physical Education. She married the love of her life, Linus LeJeune, and they moved to New Jersey. While there she became Mrs. New Jersey runner-up and began her teaching career. She taught for 20+ years and influenced the lives of so many people through teaching and coaching cheerleading. She was an amazing wife, mother to her two daughters, and grandmother to her four grandchildren. We could not have asked for more and were so lucky to have her. We will miss her forever but are rejoicing that she is now resting with our Lord.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Linus LeJeune of Merryville, LA; daughters, Savannah Lynn LeJeune of Merryville, LA, Cheyenne Lynn Lopez and Phillip Lopez of Merryville, LA; Mother and Father, John and Wanda Eaves of Merryville, LA, sisters, Tammie Cooley and Larry of Merryville, LA, Marion Eaves of Merryville, LA, Karen Lytle and Winton of Willis Point, TX; grandchildren, Leiah, Navy, Aria, Bridger and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Bilbo and Roberts Church of Christ, 782 Bilbo St., DeRidder, LA on Saturday July 1, 2023 from 2-4 pm. While the family appreciates everyone’s love, prayers, and support they have requested please no flowers or gifts. In lieu of flowers and gifts please consider donating to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Sunny Glen Children’s Home in her honor.
