Charles "Chuck" Edward Moshier Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on June 30, 2026, at the age of 62. Born on June 1, 1964, in Monticello, NY, Chuck found his calling as a carpenter, where his knack for craftsmanship shone through in every project he tackled. His hands could build just about anything, and he always had something in the works.
A proud veteran, Chuck served in the U.S. Army for ten years, enlisting on July 20, 1982, and settling in Louisiana after his honorable discharge in 1992. He was a true jack of all trades who didn't just work hard but played hard too. Whether he was out fishing or enjoying the great outdoors, his zest for life was infectious.
Family meant everything to Chuck. He is survived by his loving wife of twenty-four years, Tammie Moshier of DeRidder, LA; his children, Justin Moshier and Jessica of Leesville, LA, John Morgan and Jessica of DeRidder, LA, Candace Abel and Cody of Leesville, LA, Nikki Lockhart of DeRidder, LA, Samantha Cormier and Robert of DeRidder, LA, Devyn Lockhart and Kristen Brack of DeRidder, LA; Stephanie Abrams and Michael of Leesville, LA, April Myers of DeRidder, LA; sisters, Donna Hulse, Dee Dee Rodriguez, Lisa Burger, Tammy Rodriguez, Barbara Moshier; brother, Jeff Moshier. He was also a proud grandfather who cherished every moment spent with his grandkids, Triton, Saleen, Harley, Allie, Shelby, Cody II, Matthew, Khloe, Zoey, Gage Trent, Jacob, Lain, Kylin, Ava Rillie, Chantler, Jayde, Tessalynn, Wesson, Lawson, Isabella, Mya and Kynlee who were truly his whole world. He will also be remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Edward Moshier, Sr. and Mary Louise Moshier; bonus parents, Ernest and Joan Webster; mother-in-law, Elouise "Granny' Morgan.
Chuck had a great sense of humor and was known as the family jokester. Not a day went by without him pulling a prank or teasing a loved one. If he picked on you, it was his way of showing love. He enjoyed kicking back with old western movies, and classics like "In the Heat of the Night" and "Little House on the Prairie" always kept him entertained.
Chuck may no longer walk among us, but his spirit and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be missed more than words can say.
Cremation has been entrusted to Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.
