DeRidder, LA

Cathy Dee Buchanan Clark, age 73, of DeRidder, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on June 14, 1952, Cathy lived a life defined by faith, love, kindness, and devotion to her family. She shared 54 wonderful years of marriage with the love of her life, Lawrence Lynn Clark. Together they built a home filled with laughter, cherished memories, and an unwavering commitment to one another.

Cathy was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and faithfully attended Bilbo and Roberts Church of Christ throughout her life. Her faith was the foundation of who she was and was reflected in the love and care she showed to everyone around her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Lawrence Lynn Clark; her children, Amy James and husband Keith James, Bryan Clark and wife Amber Clark, and Sara Asher and husband Alex Asher. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Hudson James, Kate James, Lexie Clark, Brady Clark, Kameron Wilson, John David Asher, and Greyson Asher, all of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life.

In her younger years, Cathy worked as a hairstylist, where her creativity and warm personality touched many lives. After becoming a mother, she devoted herself wholeheartedly to raising her children and caring for her family. She had a remarkable gift for sewing and could make just about anything her family needed. Whether it was clothing, repairs, or handmade treasures, everything she created was stitched together with love. Cathy enjoyed spending countless hours fishing with her husband, creating memories that would last a lifetime. She also enjoyed trips to the casino and trying her luck at the slot machines. As her children grew older, she returned to work at Sears and later at Pretty Things Flower Shop. She also found great fulfillment working at Jackson Hewitt, where she served as a manager. Cathy genuinely loved her clients and took pride in helping people. She valued the relationships she built through her work and was known for treating everyone with kindness, patience, and respect. Her friendly smile and caring nature made a lasting impression on all who knew her.

More than anything, Cathy loved her family. She was the heart of her home-a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and loyal friend. She celebrated the accomplishments of those she loved, offered support during difficult times, and never missed an opportunity to remind her family how much they meant to her. Her kindness, generosity, and grateful spirit were gifts she shared freely with everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Though our hearts ache with her passing, we find comfort in knowing that her legacy lives on through the family she cherished and the countless lives she touched. She was deeply loved, and her absence will be felt every day.

Cathy was loved by many and will be missed by even more.

"Her children arise and call her blessed." - Proverbs 31:28
