Brooklyn LeeAnne Kemp

December 29, 2008 — July 31, 2025

Rosepine, Louisiana

Brooklyn LeeAnne Kemp, 16, of Rosepine, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, July 31, 2025.

Brooklyn LeeAnne Kemp was loved deeply and wholeheartedly. Her friends meant the world to her, and she had a gift for making everyone feel special. She had a very special friend group that she loved to be with.

Family was her heart. More than anything, Brooklyn treasured time spent with those she loved; whether it was sitting around a table, riding in a buggy, or just being together. Some of Brooklyn’s favorite memories were made at Mawmaw and Pawpaw’s house. She loved family meals, helping in the kitchen, and had claimed her Thanksgiving role as “the chopper,” always assisting Mawmaw in making the pumpkin pie. Pancake nights were another special tradition she enjoyed there. She always adored being at “ole Debbie’s house,” where she made so many cherished memories.

Brooklyn had a soft spot for her baby girl cousin, Sadie, whom she loved to spoil. She was a proud “mother hen” to her younger cousins Hudson, Ben, and Jake. She loved all her cousins deeply. Her uncles held a special place in her heart; she loved sitting on the porch with Uncle Chad and Uncle G, going on buggy rides, and playfully picking on them. BooBoo and Wawee were two more constants she loved having by her side and inviting over. She always wanted to know what her aunts were up to.

Creative to the core, Brooklyn loved canvas painting, crafting, and especially making slime; a tradition she carried on each year with her mom’s class. She had a competitive spirit and loved game nights, especially when she could be a little sneaky with card games. She enjoyed cooking, baking, making omelets, crab boils, and even making butter from scratch!

Brooklyn’s spiritual life was just as rich. She loved her church family at Westview, attending youth group, game nights, and lock-ins. She was baptized there. She made it a point to hug everyone at church every time she was there. Brooklyn shared her faith boldly and joyfully; often encouraging others through scripture and even leaving scripture cards on school bathroom mirrors for others to find.

Brooklyn had a way with words that kept everyone laughing. Two favorite Brooklyn quotes were: “Instant regrets” and “It’s a cat, you idiot.” There are countless more Brooklyn sayings that will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Her favorite colors were pink and emerald. Brooklyn was adventurous from a young age, whether painting herself like a bear or showing up extra boujee. Always ready to go, she loved shopping at TJ Maxx, eating Crumbl cookies (especially churro), Fiery Crab, sipping on Alani, iced coffee, and açaí bowls. She had a special love for Lululemon and making TikToks. Crawfish season was her absolute favorite season. Brooklyn loved being involved in school, attending every sporting event to cheer on her friends, participating in FBLA and other clubs. She loved Rosepine High School and her favorite teachers.

No matter what she was doing, she loved having her boyfriend, Ben, by her side. They shared a bond full of creativity and fun. He was always up for any adventure from the beach at Cameron, fishing, making her Dad bring them to the lake, eating Mexican, painting, playing with her favorite kids, and even building LEGOs. Ben & Brooklyn had a special relationship and would soon celebrate 2 years on October 21st. He gave her a very special promise ring that she always wore with love.

Family was very important to Brooklyn. She loved planning family vacations. Brooklyn loved going to the mountains. She also loved being on the lake and tubing or fishing.

Brooklyn loved her mom and showed it. She was passionate about all things skincare and makeup and often gave her mom facials. Getting her nails done with her mom and Ms. Jamie was another favorite. Brooklyn loved tagging along on shopping trips and soaking up time with her mom. She was always tracking her. They would cuddle up together to watch reality shows and she would even climb in bed with her. Brooklyn often left her mom sweet notes in drawers at home or at school. She was truly her mom’s velcro baby.

Brooklyn and her dad shared a fiery redhead connection. “She was little Mary June.” Brooklyn and Dad were two peas in a pod. They loved teaming up to keep mom “in line.” Brooklyn had Daddy’s heart. Even when he was working, she could send him her wish lists, and like magic, everything would show up at the house. When he was home, she was his sidekick and always ready to go, whether learning to drive, skinning deer, or fishing. Brooklyn was Daddy’s girl.

Brooklyn was also her brother Evin’s biggest cheerleader. She helped her mom make playlists for his games and kept the Hype Team energized with all the best music. She loved cheering him on; except maybe for the 8 a.m. games! She never passed up the chance to lovingly pick on him. He loved making TikToks with her and when she would play catch with him. She of course tried to coach him. He loved playing uno with his big sister and when she would drive him around. Their bond was something truly special and unbreakable.

Brooklyn lived with joy, heart, and purpose. She made the world brighter just by being herself, and her spirit will live on in the laughter, love, and memories she gave so freely to everyone blessed to know her.
