Brenda Lee Gill, a cherished daughter, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025, at the age of 61. Born on December 23, 1963, in Deridder, Louisiana, to Darrel and Lorraine Slaydon. Brenda brought light and joy to everyone she encountered with, and made sure everyone left her with a smile.
Brenda was a devoted homemaker whose love for her family knew no bounds. Her warm spirit and nurturing nature were evident in every corner of her life, from her commitment to maintaining a welcoming home to the laughter she shared with family and friends. She had a heart of gold and was often described as the life of the party. She had a remarkable way with words, effortlessly brightening conversations and providing comfort to those around her. An avid lover of the outdoors, she found joy in nature and spent her free time exploring the beauty that surrounded her.
She is survived by her children; Chris Slaydon and Kim of DeRidder, LA. Larry Ledoux and Desiree of Iowa, LA., Randy Bell of Iowa, LA., Dewayne Gill and Kayla of Rosepine, LA., Jessica Brady of Winnfield, LA., Brandy Ray and Brandon of Pickering, LA., Paula Springer and George of DeRidder, LA., Linda Brister and Marchel of Rosepine, LA., and Peggy Brister of Rosepine, LA., 34 grandchildren, and 26 Great-Grandchildren.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Kenneth Gill, son; Kenneth Gill Jr., sisters; Linda Slaydon, Becky Bebee, and Sharon Ray, and niece Kimberly Stephens.
A Memorial Gathering will take place for Brenda, on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Myers Colonial Funeral Home from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Cremation has been entrusted to Myers Colonial Funeral Home.
As we remember Brenda, let us carry forward her legacy of love, laughter, and kindness. Her spirit will forever remain in our hearts, a guiding light reminding us of the beauty of life and the importance of cherishing one another.
