Bobbie Ann Palmer Franklin

DeRidder, Louisiana

It is with deepest sadness and sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved daughter, sister and aunt, Bobbie Ann Palmer Franklin on October 13, 2025. Bobbie passed at the age of 66 at Westwood Manor Nursing facility in DeRidder, LA.

Bobbie was born to Doris Faye Medlock Seastrunk and the late Harrison "Pookie" Palmer on April 6, 1959, in Newton, TX. She was the second to the oldest of eight children born to this union. She attended Merryville High School in Merryville, LA. She was once married to the late Cartez "Coody" Franklin of Newton, TX.

Throughout the years she had numerous jobs in Louisiana and Texas. She resided in DeRidder, LA and her last job before becoming unable to work was as a cook at Tri Parish Rehabilitation in Rosepine, LA.

Bobbie was a loving, caring daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Throughout her life she enjoyed sewing, cooking, fishing, playing dominoes, dancing and watching Little House on the Praire. Her favorite time of all was having family gatherings and simply having a good time with family and friends.

She was loved by many and once she retired most of her time was spent with family and friends, especially her dear mother. They would send time together doing so many things until Bobbie's health worsened. The memories they made will be forever treasured.

Those left to cherish her memories are her mother, Doris Seastrunk and Joseph of DeRidder, LA; sisters, Susie Vallaire, Maxine Stone, Gladys Palmer, Vanessa Palmer Myers and John, Dianne Palmer and Elric, Shirley Allen, all of DeRidder, LA; brothers, Roger "Catfish" Palmer and Regina of DeRidder, LA, Tyrone Allen and Anthonette of Austin, TX, Oscar "Man" Isaac and Paulette of Bell Grade, TX, Cedric Allen and Johnnie Mae of Merryville, LA, Reginald Allen of Lake Charles, LA; special dear friend, the love of her life, Artis Colton of DeRidder, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Harrison "Pookie" Palmer; stepmother, Gloria Allen Palmer, stepbrother, Russell Lee Allen; sisters, Susan Allen Weather, Stephanie Palmer Oguntuase.

Visitation will be Friday, October 24, 2025, at 9:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Pastor Kenneth Seastrunk will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
