Blanche Cole

Hazel Blanche Godeaux Cole  1932-2021

Blanche Cole, 89, of Ragley, LA, passed from this life Tuesday, December 21, in her home surrounded by family and friends.

Blanche led a very active life wearing many hats within the community. She served proudly as the secretary at South Beauregard High School, and former Ragley High, for twenty years. Her "motherly/counselor" personality impacted many lives throughout and beyond the twenty years. You can see her impact through the many people that recognized her everywhere she went.

Blanche was a lifelong member of Magnolia Baptist Church and a charter member of the Ragley chapter of Eastern Star #232. She enjoyed the fellowship and recruiting others.

Blanche will be most missed by her family to which she was fully dedicated. She was a pillar of the family cherishing every gathering and instilling strength in all members. She was the embodiment of selflessness, not a day went by that she put herself above others.

Blanche will be remembered as a true friend with a love for people, cooking, faith, and time with family and friends – playing cards, dominoes, making candy, or just telling stories were among her favorite activities. To her grandchildren, she will always be remembered as Grammy.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 72 years, Mickey Cole of Ragley; sons, Kenny Cole of Houston, Terry and Susan Cole of Ragley and Jeff Cole of Ocean Springs, MS.  Grandchildren, Brooklyn and Greg Cole, Marina Cole, Michael Hicks and John Hicks.  Great Grandchildren, Jarith Hicks, Liam Cole and May Cole.   Also, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends

She was preceded in death by her parents Alex and Ollie Godeaux.  Brothers, Jimmy Godeaux, Morris Godeaux and Sister Lillie Mae Smith.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2021 from 11 AM until the time of Service at 2 PM at Magnolia Baptist Church in Ragley La.  Reverend Tony Anthony and Reverend Carlie Jackson will officiate the service.  Pallbearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requested donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Magnolia Baptist Church.

Services are under the direction of Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, La.
