Betty JoAnn Spence Anderson, a beloved friend, devoted aunt, and passionate cook, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on May 28, 1932, Betty filled her life with warmth and love, leaving a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Betty's infectious smile and generous spirit brought joy to countless gatherings, reminding us all of the beauty found in simple moments. In her kitchen, she was a creative force, delighting family and friends with her delectable baked goods, recipes that were often passed down with laughter and stories. Throughout her life, Betty embodied kindness and compassion, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a comforting word. She had a heart full of love that never ran out, making her a beacon of hope and support to everyone she encountered.
She is survived by her sister, Billie, and her many beloved nieces, nephews, great[1]nieces, and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; her brothers, Jack, Rex, Ted, Archie, and Ray; her sister, Gladys; her nephew, Dennis; and her parents, Taylor and Rose.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday December 31, 2025, at 11:00am in the chapel of Myers Colonial Funeral Home located in DeRidder, LA. Pastor Richard “Dick” Metz from Baton Rouge and Pastor Bill Smith from DeRidder will officiate the services. A visitation will be held on Wednesday December 31, 2025, at 10:00am until the service at 11:00am. at Myers Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service on a later date in Converse, Louisiana.
