Allene had a green thumb and a love for gardening, especially roses. Even in her later years, she could often be found tending her garden and enjoying the beauty of her flowers. Her creativity extended to the arts, and she was an active member of the Art League in Springhill, LA, where she enjoyed painting.
A lifelong learner, Allene’s dedication to education was exceptional. She earned multiple degrees from McNeese State University, including a BA in Education, a BS in Counseling, two Master’s degrees in Counseling and Library Science, and a Specialist Degree in Reading. Beyond her academic achievements, she contributed to her community as a board member of Beauregard Credit Union and as a member and former president of the NEA, reflecting her unwavering commitment to both professional excellence and civic engagement.
A public viewing will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM officiated by Brother Gladney Hunt and Brother Dennis Moses.
