Lealon Simmons, 71, passed from this life on Friday, May 22, 2009 at his residence in DeRidder, Louisiana. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 24, 2009 at Myers Colonial Funeral Home from 5 PM until 10 PM and will continue on Monday, May 25, 2009 at Smyrna Baptist Church in Sugartown, Louisiana from 10 AM until 2 PM. Funeral Services will be held at Smyrna Baptist Church on Monday, May 25, 2009 at 2 PM with Bro. Frank Ott, Jr., Bro. Jake Mullican and Bro. Dore’ Langley officiating. Burial will follow at Whitaker Cemetery in DeRidder, Louisiana.

Survivors include the following; Spouse: Mary P. Simmons of DeRidder, Louisiana; Children: Janet Lewis of DeRidder, Louisiana, Carlton Cooley of DeRidder, Louisiana, Helene Hebert of DeRidder, Louisiana, Ursula Ross of Katy, Texas, Travis Simmons of DeRidder, Louisiana; Brothers: Bedell Simmons of Vidor, and Raymond Simmons of DeRidder, Louisiana; as well as Fourteen Grandchildren and Ten Great Grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by: Granddaughter: Michelle “Missy” Cooley.
