Jerrel Arthur Lambright

Jerrel Arthur Lambright, 70, of Starks, LA, passed from this life on Saturday, December 28, 2019.


Jerrel was an investigator for the Beauregard Sheriff’s Department and the District Attorney’s Office for many years until Hardy Myers talked him into becoming a Funeral Director.  He began his career in funeral service at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in Deridder, LA, and later went on to work for several other funeral homes in Louisiana and Texas before finally settling into retirement.


Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Jimmy Gore and Sharon of Richmond, TX; daughters, Diane Renee Miller of Hazen, AR, Carla Samantha Lambright of Starks, LA; sister, Barbara Montgomery and Fred of Orange, TX; grandchildren, Trey Miller, Dalton Miller, Justice Brummett, Bryce Cryer, Jaycie Cryer, Tyler Gore, Nicole Gore, Marshall Gore; great grandchildren, Grayson Miller and Ender Miller; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.


He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joyce Amae Lambright; parents, Carl and Ruth Williams Lambright; brothers, Ronnie Lambright, Beryl” Buddy” Smith, Maurice “Sonny” Smith; sister, Delona “PeeWee” Fruge. The status of his sister, Lamona “Dottie” Romero is unknown.


Visitation will be held on Monday, December 30, 2019, from 10 AM to 1 PM at Gambrell Baptist Church in Starks, LA.  Funeral service will follow at 1 PM, Monday, December 30, 2019 also at Gambrell Baptist Church in Starks, LA.  Brother Rod Boyer will officiate the service.  Pallbearers will be Trey Miller, Dalton Miller, Justice Brummett, Bryce Cryer, Tyler Gore and Caleb Martinez.  Honorary Pallbearer will be Jaycie Cryer. Burial will follow at Smith Cemetery in Starks, LA.
