Jacqueline Dolores Neely
June 27, 1931- June 11, 2018
Dolores Neely passed from this life on June 11 in Morris, Oklahoma at the age of 86. Born in Corsicana, TX to Jack and Lela Van Winkle, and she had two sisters Mollie & Jane. June 3, 1950, she married the love of her life Vernon L. Neely (known to most as husband). She was the mother to Michael Leo, and twin girls Denise Elaine and Deanna Jane.
She and her husband affected many lives through the years as they labored in the ministry throughout Texas and around the world. In Texas they were pastorate in Odessa, Abilene, Ranger, Lufkin, and Thomas Crossing. It was her honor to serve as the Texas District UPC ladies auxiliary president for 16 years. Anytime day or night her home was always open to ministers, young people or anyone that needed a meal or cup of coffee. Some of her favorite memories were singing hymnals around the piano or the campfire at the annual horse rides they hosted. She was loved by everyone, she never met a stranger, and was affectionally called Meme by most. She even had many that considered her as their second mother.
Dolores is survived by her loving son Michael & wife Cheri Neely of Abilene, TX, grandchildren Jonathan Neely & wife Valerie of Abilene, TX, Misty McNicholas & her husband Damon of Austin, TX, Benjamin and wife Mandy of Abilene TX, and Daniel and wife Lauren of Abilene, TX. She was Meme to 12 great-grandchildren. Her surviving sister Jane Marengo of Grand Prairie, TX, Sister-in-law Rose Laurence & husband Joe of DeRidder, LA, & Sandra Hindle and husband Fred of Houston, TX. Also, a host of nieces, nephews and special friends.
