He is survived by his wife, Kerrie Delano Martin of Church Point, LA; mother, Shirley Ann Martin of DeRidder, LA; brother, Andy Martin & wife Colleen of DeRidder, LA; father-in-law, Larry & Cecilia Delano of Church Point, LA; sisters-in-law, Merila Ingram & husband Ricky of Church Point, LA, Paula Lopez & companion Paul Daigle of Opelousas, LA and Jennifer Kennerson & husband Michael of Church Point, LA; nephews, Brian Lopez & Zeb & Ramsy Kennerson and faithful companion, his lap cat Sammie Martin.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Martin and his mother-in-law, Earline Delano.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 24, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Elder Truman Keel and Elder J.R. Haymon will officiate. Interment will follow at Cannon Cemetery in Merryville, LA.

Sandra Cooley Ogle, 65, of DeRidder, Louisiana passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012 at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, after a five year battle with leukemia and lymphoma. Sandra was a member of Westview Baptist Church. She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 42 years, Clarence Ogle of DeRidder, Louisiana; sons, John Ogle and wife Brandi of Rosepine, Louisiana and Justin Ogle of DeRidder, Louisiana; daughters, Julie Ogle Warren and husband Darren of Starks, Louisiana and JoAnna Ogle Fabian and husband Dubba of DeRidder, Louisiana and sister, Diane Cooley Cooper of Humble, Texas. Sandra is survived by five grandchildren, Hunter Fabian, Shelby Warren, Tanner Ogle, Kobe Fabian and Mackenzie Ogle. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Elsie Cooley.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 19, 2012 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, Louisiana. Mrs. Christine (Tina) Evon Berwick Thompson, 62, of Starks, Louisiana passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Christus St. Patrick’s Hospital.
Mrs. Thompson was born in Port Arthur, Texas, raised in Fields, Louisiana and lived most of her life in Starks. Mrs. Thompson will be most remembered for her love and devotion to her family.She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 40 years, James O. Thompson; daughter, Jennifer Renea Thompson; mother, Dorothy Williams; sisters, Sandra Teeter, Kathy Hammett, Sharon Kay Williams, and Debi Norgaard; brother, Roger Dale Williams and twenty nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her father, Homer Berwick and step-father, Jimmy Williams.

Shirley Bernadine Hedger, 83, of DeRidder, Louisiana passed from this life on Thursday, February 16, 2012.
Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Ada Mae Smith and husband Charles Leo Smith of DeRidder, Louisiana and Sherlie Eugeneia Owens of Bruner, Missouri; sisters, Faye Black, Audrey LaRoche, Cleone Tucker and Thelma Logan. She is survived by nine grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by husband, Sherlie Eugene Hedger; daughter, Ginger Lee Hedger; grandchildren, Pauline Louise LaBrie and Eugene Leo Smith and sister, Leone Baxter and “only son, Blackie, the dog”.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2012 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, Louisiana. Clifford Seborn Cooley, born May 7, 1926 in DeRidder, Louisiana passed away on February 14, 2012 with loved ones at his bedside. At the age of 85, Mr. Cooley leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 65 years, Marjorie Rummel Cooley of DeRidder; three daughters, Janis Jones & husband Rodney Granberry of DeRidder, Joan Jackson & husband Keven of Rosepine and Leatrice Menasco & husband Jim of DeRidder; two sons, Alan Cooley & wife Evelyn of DeRidder and Timothy Cooley & wife Tammy also of DeRidder. He is also survived by three brothers, Bennie “Monk” Cooley, James “Tom” Cooley and Glen “Pete” Cooley; 14 grandchildren, Cindy Shaver, Lisa Hebert, Darrell W. Cooley, Jeffery Cooley, Stacie McLendon, Keven D. Jackson, John Earl Jackson, Clifford W. Jackson, Steven L. Cooley, Dusty J. Cooley, Cheyanna D. Doyle, Carl Menasco, Chris Menasco and Chasity Guillory; 28 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. Mr. Cooley was preceded in death by his parents Oliver Seborn and Allie Fair Ross Cooley; sisters, Velma Wilson and Alice Orton; brothers, Robert Cooley and Earl Cooley; one son-in-law, John Jones and an infant great grandson, Steven Michael Cooley. He provided for his family in so many ways. He retired from cutting logs and pulpwood for many years with Gray Logging. He loved raising livestock, farming, hunting and fishing. He processed his own meats and harvested his own vegetables. Grafting trees and being a beekeeper were also things that kept him busy before and after retirement. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and again on Friday, February 17, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Gary Brown will officiate. Interment will follow at Whitaker Cemetery in DeRidder.

Evelyn Delores Smith, 75, passed from this life on Monday, February 13, 2012.
Mrs. Smith was a wonderful mother, grandmother and wife and had a love for animals.
Those left to cherish her memory are one son, Jerry Johnson and wife Monica of Pitkin, Louisiana; four daughters, Vickie Griffin of Harlingen, Texas; Deborah Wise and husband Terry of Mora, Louisiana; Rhonda Haymon and husband Jon of Pineville, Louisiana and Shelia Johnson of Iowa, Louisiana.
She is survived by seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by husband, Doyle Smith and mother, Evelyn Jackson.

Barbara D. Bickham, 73, of DeRidder, Louisiana, departed this life on Saturday, February 11, 2012. Barbara was born on January 23, 1939 to Rev. Woodrow Wilson Batties and Edna Dozier Batties. Barbara graduated from George Washington Carver High School in 1956. She received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Grambling State University in 1965. She retired from the Beauregard Parish School Board.
Those left to cherish her memory are, husband, Lonnie E. Bickham and six children, Gloria Robinson (Dennis), Ouida Batties, Gerald Bickham (Vernice), Marvin Bickham(Claudia), Alvin Wilson (Adopted Son), and Beverly Henry-Ford(Larone).She is survived by ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, one sister, Ina Ray Johnson of DeRidder, Louisiana; one cousin, Joyce Bluitt and a host of nieces and nephews.

Audrey Lee Clubbs Archie, 60 of DeRidder, Louisiana, departed this life on Tuesday, February 7, 2012. Audrey passed away after a short stay in Beauregard Memorial Hospital. Audrey was born on December 16, 1951 in DeRidder,La to the late James Clubbs and Maxine Clubbs Mitchell. She was the 5th child of 9 children.
Audrey attended George Washington Carver elementary and graduated from DeRidder High School.
She was the wife of Albert Archie of Las Vegas, Nev., and stepdaughter of James Earl Mitchell of DeRidder. Audrey was the mother of Angela Diane Clubbs(deceased) and granddaughter Adreanea Diane Donahue of Las Vegas, Nev. Audrey was preceded in death by her brother Robert Lee Clubbs(RL).
Audrey enjoyed cooking special dishes for family and friends. Audrey enjoyed visiting family from coast to coast and north to south. She especially enjoyed the Shankle Family reunions. She enjoyed family card games. Audrey was a loyal friend to her sister-in-law , Georgia Lewis who preceded her in death also. Audrey was the Godparents of Kim Davis-Hall, Kendric Pratt, Antoine Hill and Jarvis McCoy. All of her nieces and nephews loved her and loved being around her. She was someone they could talk to.
She is survived by her parents, James Earl and Maxine Mitchell(DeRidder); Ruby Pratt, Wanda Williams both of Sacramento,Ca.; Willie Clubbs(Woodbridge, Va); Linda Clubbs-Relford(Greensboro, N. Carolina); Brenda Commissioning(Orlanda, Fl.); Shirley Sterling(Snellville, Ga.); Kenneth Clubbs(Loganville,Ga.) Gloria Clubbs-Burse(Sacramento,Ca) ; and longtime life partner Lester Prater(DeRidder,La.). She is survived by a great number of nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts. She leaves to mourn her passing a host of family and friends from California and Nevada.

Mrs. Ira Bea (Shroll) Broxson, 87, of DeQuincy, Louisiana passed away at her home surrounded by loved ones on February 10, 2012 after a long and happy life. She was born in DeQuincy on December 13, 1924 with twin brother Everett Lee to Edward Clyde and Zella (Dyess) Shroll.
Ira Bea graduated from DeQuincy High School and the same week married Eugene (Gene) Broxson, Sr. in Lake Charles, Louisiana on May 21, 1943. Their marriage lasted 48 ½ years before his death. Ira loved making her home a gathering place for friends and family with food and fellowship. In her younger days, she enjoyed flower gardening, quilting, crochet, hunting and fishing as pastimes. While residing in McComb Mississippi, Ira was employed on the sewing line for Kellwood Manufacturing. A few years later, Ira began a career as an independent sales consultant with Home Interiors and enjoyed meeting new people and helping them make their homes warm and inviting.
Ira Bea was preceded in death by her husband Gene, and Parents, four brothers: Norman Shroll, Roy Knight, Carroll J. Knight, and E.C. (Fritz) Shroll, three sisters: Fern S. Griscom, MarieEtta Stephens Baukman and EttaMarie Shoemake.
Ira Bea’s survivors include:

Daughter: Sondra Aline Broxson Hyman & husband Alvin C. Hyman, Sr. of Metairie, Louisiana.

Three Grandsons: Preston Eugene Broxson of Cottonwood, Louisiana, Brandon Broxson Hyman of Metairie, Louisiana & Alvin Christopher Hyman, Jr. of Metairie, Louisiana

She is also survived by her twin brother, Everett Lee Shroll of Santa Ana, California, Sisters: Mrs. Elsie S. Crewell of DeQuincy, Louisiana and Mrs. Edna S. Palermo of Yucaipa, California; Sister-in-law, Mrs. Estelle Broxson Allen of Beaumont, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins throughout the country.
Sis. Ira Bea was a member of First United Pentecostal Church of DeQuincy where she was active in the Ladies Ministry and was a faithful prayer warrior until the end of her days. A celebration honoring her life will be held at the 1st United Pentecostal Church in DeQuincy, LA on Tuesday, February 14, 2012. If you would like you may wear Ira’s favorite color of pink or bright colors when attending the service celebrating her life.
Visitation will precede the services at First United Pentecostal Church, T.D. Cardwell Center on Monday, February 13, 2012 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm and again on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 in the First United Pentecostal Church Sanctuary. Pastor Wayne Cardwell and Elder T.D. Cardwell will officiate. Interment will be at Perkins Cemetery in DeQuincy under the direction of Myers Colonial Funeral Home of DeRidder.

Marilyn M. Miller was born on July 26, 1955 in DeRidder, Louisiana to Elijah Johnson and the late Malenda Miller of DeRidder. Marilyn passed from this life on Saturday, February 4, 2012 in DeRidder, Louisiana. At an early age, she was sprinkled at New Hope CME Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Wilson. She later united with Saint Mary Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Elder James Piper, Sr. where she served faithfully. Marilyn worked for Beauregard Parish School Board at Carver Elementary School Cafeteria for a number of years. She was formally employed by BARC.
Visitation will be on Monday, February 13, 2012 from 10:00am until 1:00pm at St. Mary Church of God in Christ in DeRidder, Louisiana. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 13, 2012 at 1:00pm at St. Mary Church of God in Christ. Superintendent Dallas Thomas will officiate. Burial will follow at Almadane Cemetery in Almadane, Louisiana.

Lawrence James Jackson
October 6, 1944 - February 5, 2012
Lawrence James Jackson, 67, of DeRidder, Louisiana, departed this earthly life on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Dubuis Extended Care, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Lawrence Jackson was born on October 6, 1944 in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, to the late Dr. Earnest Jackson, Sr. and Almary Scott Norris. He was the second oldest of eight children. He moved back to DeRidder, La in 1999. Lawrence joined Mt. Canaan Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Dr. Earnest Jackson Sr.
Lawrence Jackson graduated from G.W. Carver High School in 1964. He attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, La. Lawrence served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1994, retiring as a Sergeant Major. He served in the Vietnam War and Desert Storm, receiving The Purple Heart Medal. In addition, Lawrence received several awards, certificates and medals. Survivors left to cherish his precious memories are; step-mother, Mrs. Ozzie Lee Jackson, three children, daughter, Cynthia Plummer (Charles) of Dallas, Texas; sons, Darrian Hall-Jackson of DeRidder, Louisiana and Rodney Brown of Dallas, Texas; 7 siblings, Mr. Earnest Jackson Jr. of Genesco, Illinois; Mrs. Patricia (Samuel) Simmons of Silvis, Illinois; Ms. Betty (Melon) Forrest of East Moline, Illinois; Mrs. Paulette (James) Holt of Los Angeles, California; Mrs. Linda (Charles) Sowell of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Mrs. Barbara (Andre) Leatherman of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Mrs. Brenda (Julius) Jackson of Bon Weir, Texas; 1 step-brother, 4 step-sisters, 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Mr. Suire was a certified welder in parts of Texas and all over Louisiana. He loved raising beautiful gardens and rabbits. Those left to cherish his memory are sons, Alvin Ray Suire Sr. and Kevin Wayne Suire both of Leesville, Louisiana; daughters, Ranetta and husband Garland Smith of Leesville, Louisiana; Amber Suire of Burkeville, Texas and Natalie Suire of DeRidder, Louisiana. Also, brothers, James and wife Sandy Suire and Nelton Joe Suire, all of DeRidder. He is survived by eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ada and Gladys Richard Suire and his brother, John Suire. A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 3, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Old Cypress Cemetery in DeRidder, Louisiana A trust fund has been set up at Chase Bank to help cover expenses.

| Sherry Lee CraftDecember 16, 1946 - January 30, 2012 Sherry Lee Craft, 65, of DeRidder, Louisiana, passed from this life on Monday, January 30, 2012 at Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder, Louisiana.Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2012 from 4:00pm to 9:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 3, 2012 at 2:00pm, also at the funeral home. Sherry was of the Pentecostal faith and was a loving mother and grandmother. Sherry is survived by her husband of 45 years, Jerry Craft of DeRidder, Louisiana; one son, Dusty Craft of Houston, Texas; daughters, Staci Robison and husband David of Houston, Texas and Kristi Hampton and husband Tim of Harrison, Arkansas; also, brother, Roy Lee Blackmon of Leesville, Louisiana and four grandchildren, Regan and Zach Hampton and Tanner and Taylor Robison.Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, LeeRoy and Dollie Blackmon and sister, Nita Hennigan. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the Doctors and emergency staff of Beauregard Memorial Hospital and to the First United Pentecostal Church for their prayers and meals.
