November 15, 1919 - November 25, 2011 Harry J. Anderson, 92, of DeRidder, Louisiana passed from this life on Saturday, November 25, 2011 at Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder. Harry was born in Sabine Parish, Louisiana to Perry and Myrtie Anderson, Sr. He lived most of his life in the DeRidder area. Harry worked in the shipyards at Orange, Texas during WWII building ships. He attended McNeese State University and graduated from Louisiana State University achieving a degree in Agriculture, working afterward in Soil Conservation. Harry later became a teacher. He taught for 33 years at DeRidder High School, returning to McNeese to earn a Masters degree in Education and plus thirty certification.Harry was a member of the Pentecostal faith and attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Harry is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty Spence Anderson of DeRidder; 1 Brother, Chester Homer Anderson of DeRidder; 1 Sister, Naomi “Sis” Glass of DeRidder and a host of nieces and nephews. Harry was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder on Saturday, November 26, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday, November 27, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Sardis Cemetery in Noble, Louisiana on Monday, November 28, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Glass will officiate.

Mrs. Florence Marie (Barthol) Hennigan 69, of Merryville, LA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 22, 2011, in a local care facility where she resided for the past seven years. She was born on July 9, 1942 in Jasper, TX. She was a beloved member of both the First Apostolic Church and First United Pentecostal Church of Merryville for many years.
Mrs. Hennigan was preceded in death by her mother Lula Mae (Busby) Barthol and father Harvey Barthol of Jasper, TX. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jack Melton Hennigan, Sr., “Jay” Hennigan, Jr., Trina Louise Campbell, Florence Gaylene Salgado, Lisa Lynn Moore of Merryville, LA, Tina Denise Cooley of Singer, LA, Kyle Keith Hennigan of Dallas, TX, ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Also survived by her sister, Reba Rawls of Kirbyville, TX and brothers, Carl Barthol and Junior Barthol, both of Jasper, TX.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 26, 2011 from 11:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. and again on Sunday, November 27, 2011 from 9:00 A.M. until time of service at First United Pentecostal Church in Merryville, LA. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at First United Pentecostal Church in Merryville, LA. Rev. Frank Kendall and Rev. Guy Snyder will officiate. Funeral services were held on Friday, November 11, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Myers Colonial Funeral Home. Interment followed at Smyrna Cemetery in DeRidder.
Tony was a veteran. He served in the US Army from 1971 to 1980. He was a Sgt. at Allen Corrections Facility for 10 years. He was a wonderful husband and father. He will be missed dearly.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years - Sheila Torres of DeRidder; 3 sons: Anthony Torres & wife Rita of New York, NY, jayson Pooler & wife Telisa of DeRidder, Dwayne Pooler and wife Cindy of DeRidder; his mother: Elba Torres; 3 sisters: Millie, Cindy and Provita and 1 brother: William. Tony is also survived by 1 grandson: Cameronn Pooler of DeRidder; 3 granddaughters: Francine, Sandra and Gloria; 5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
