Shirley Burge, 86, of DeRidder, Louisiana passed from this life on Sunday, July 31, 2011 in DeRidder, Louisiana. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Myers Colonial Funeral Home. Rev. James Glass will officiate. Interment will follow at Newlin Cemetery in Singer, Louisiana.
Shirley was born on a farm in Cresband, SD. She married Huey "Pete" Burge in 1953. Her husband's military career sent their family to several different places until they moved to DeRidder, Louisiana in 1981. She was loved by everyone for her cheerful and funny one liners.

Edward Cade September 28, 1921 - July 15, 2011
Edward Cade, 89, of DeRidder, LA passed from this life on Friday, July 15, 2011 in Merryville, LA. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 22, 2011 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 12:00 P.M. at Myers Colonial funeral Home. Dr. Alonzo J. Campbell will officiate. Interment will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
Edward Cade was born September 28, 1921 in Warren Ohio to the late Matthew and Ethel B. Cade. After completing high school he decided to join the military and see life for himself. He enjoyed a distinguished military career- Serving in the United States Army during WW II, Korean War, Europe and North Africa for a total of 26 years.
While on military furloughs he met and married the late Ora Lee. Cade, his (Plum), he affectionately called her for more than 45 years until her passing in July of 2001.
After retiring from the military in 1969 he went to the Windy City of Chicago and found employment with Ford motor company and worked until his second retirement in 1985.
Upon his retirement, Edward moved back to Deridder, La. He was known all over town as a politician, mortician, sports announcer, taxi driver and jokester. He could always be found enjoying a good cup of coffee and good conversation with old friends.
He was the oldest of four brothers. All deceased now. One grandson preceded him in death Edward Cade II.
He leaves to cherish his memories, His son Darrell (Karen) Cade of Stockton, CA; four daughters Doris (David) Gill of Fort Mitchell, Al; Madonna (Donnell) Campbell of Huntsville, Al; Theresa Walker of San Antonia, Tex, Sandra Cade of Deridder, La and a play daughter Lisa Johnson of Deridder, La; 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law Dorothy Cade of Chicago Il, and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends
