Eddie Suire, Jr.January 27, 2012 Eddie Suire Jr., 66, of DeRidder, Louisiana passed from this life on January 27, 2012 at his home. Mr. Suire was a certified welder in parts of Texas and all over Louisiana. He loved raising beautiful gardens and rabbits. Those left to cherish his memory are sons, Alvin Ray Suire Sr. and Kevin Wayne Suire both of Leesville, Louisiana; daughters, Ranetta and husband Garland Smith of Leesville, Louisiana; Amber Suire of Burkeville, Texas and Natalie Suire of DeRidder, Louisiana. Also, brothers, James and wife Sandy Suire and Nelton Joe Suire, all of DeRidder. He is survived by eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ada and Gladys Richard Suire and his brother, John Suire. A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 3, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Old Cypress Cemetery in DeRidder, Louisiana A trust fund has been set up at Chase Bank to help cover expenses.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 3, 2012 at 2:00pm, also at the funeral home. Sherry was of the Pentecostal faith and was a loving mother and grandmother. Sherry is survived by her husband of 45 years, Jerry Craft of DeRidder, Louisiana; one son, Dusty Craft of Houston, Texas; daughters, Staci Robison and husband David of Houston, Texas and Kristi Hampton and husband Tim of Harrison, Arkansas; also, brother, Roy Lee Blackmon of Leesville, Louisiana and four grandchildren, Regan and Zach Hampton and Tanner and Taylor Robison.Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, LeeRoy and Dollie Blackmon and sister, Nita Hennigan. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the Doctors and emergency staff of Beauregard Memorial Hospital and to the First United Pentecostal Church for their prayers and meals.

Alice Berniece Heath October 6, 1920 - January 25, 2012
Alice Berniece Heath left this life for a better one on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 after a brief illness. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Bro. Lynn Clayton will officiate.
Mrs. Heath was born October 6, 1920 to James Thomas and Alice Onstott Holland. She graduated from DeRidder High School and Northwestern State University. She met and married Ransom “Hap” Heath during World War II. They lived near Frankfurt, Germany for several years after the war before returning to DeRidder. Three children were born to them: Harold Thomas Heath, Peggy Ruth Williams and Alice Jo Griffin. They also reared a foster son, Charles Alloway. Berniece was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and four siblings: Dean Holland, Ruth Stout, Victor Holland and Grace Breaux. She is survived by her four children, as well as her sister, Helen Jenkins of Oberlin, Louisiana and 8 grandchildren: Hunter, Clay and Shane Heath; Jacob and Ransom Heath Williams; Janis Perkins; Aaron Alloway and Ashley Elliott. Also surviving are 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Berneice was a business teacher at Singer High School and an elementary teacher at Evans. She was secretary to the Beauregard Parish Superintendent of Schools. Well past retirement age, she served as Interim Director of Beauregard ARC and later as administrative assistant there. The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Beauregard ARC P.O. Box 13 DeRidder, Louisiana 70634. Berniece had an amazing life journey and kept growing and maturing as a Christian as long as she lived. She attended First United Methodist Church the first half of her life and New Life Baptist Church in later years. Regarding New Life Church, she said “If the Lord has put a church at my door I had best go!”

Claude Nolen Jeane, 76, of Evans, Louisiana passed away on Monday, January 23, 2012 in Alexandria. He was a member of Evans Congregational Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School. He was an insulation Contractor for 40 years and was an owner/breeder and trainer of Quarter horses since the 1960’s. Both were family owned and operated businesses. He was church first, family second and horses third. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bessie Lea Jeane of Evans, LA; sons, Randle Jeane & wife Tracy, Scott Jeane & wife Tamaris and Sam Jeane all of Evans, LA; daughters, Teresa Burgess & husband C.A. and Marilyn Jeane all of Evans, LA; brothers, Syviel Jeane and George Jeane both of Evans, LA; sisters, Shirley Wilson, Von Saveil and Sylvia Smith all of Evans, LA; grandchildren, Randy Jeane, Darrell Jeane, Emily Jeane, Cody Bordelon, Chester Burgess, Scotty Jeane,Madison Jeane, Gregory Loftin, McKenna Loftin and Preston Jeane; great grandchildren, Isabella Jeane, Reese Jeane, Griffin Jeane, Marcus Bordelon, Gauge Bordelon, Logan Bordelon, Lucas Bordelon and Sophia Loftin and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends. Geneva worked as a riveter at the DeRidder Army Air Base during WWII. She was the oldest member of Calvary Baptist Church in the Junction. She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis O. Young; parents, Robert & Ida Lott and brother, Douglas Lott. She is survived by her son, Steve Young of Merryville, LA; daughters, Vickey Walter and Brenda Herron both of Merryville, LA; brother, Bobby Lott of Merryville, LA; sisters, Bertha Mae Gibbs and Bette Blair and husband John all of Merryville, LA; Grandson, Jason Herron & wife Tiffany of Merryville, LA; granddaughter’s, Beckey Walter of Waxhall, NC and Bonnie Walter of Rock Hill, SC; great grandchildren, Gus, Emma, Gavin, Mason and Max. Also great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Patience, Lexi, Ella, Emily, Claire and Mylee. She was preceded in death by her mother, Gertrude Navarre Bailey Raiford , father, Ethard Bailey and step-father, J.T. He was preceded in death by his wife Dovie Lee Hickman Nichols. He was a World War II Veteran, an expert craftsman, farmer and an avid hunter & fisherman. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Aunt Doris was a fantastic cook and enjoyed feeding family and friends. She also enjoyed spending time with her furry companion, Peanut. She is survived by 4 children, Barbara D.
